Copper Slag and Malchite Ore

We're so excited to include these two new items to our collection: copper slag and malchite ore from the oldest known copper mine. The mine is located in the Negev Desert in Isreal and dates back to 3000BC.
Sitting together, these two samples together provide a visual demonstration of part of the process of copper extraction, which starts with the mining of this beautiful green malchite ore.
