We are looking to recruit a number of experienced Technicians with excellent people and making skills to help run our inter-disciplinary workshops.
We are particularly looking for applicants who are confident generalists or those with a specialism in at least one of the following: coding, digital manufacturing, electronics, metalwork or textiles.

Note: even though the work pattern in the UCL job listing shows as part-time we are mostly looking for full-time technicians but will also consider part-time and job share applicants.

A bit more about the job...
Our Workshop Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day supervision, administration and health and safety of our workshops, and are the first point of contact for everyone who uses our Stratford and Bloomsbury spaces.
The post-holder should have excellent people skills and be prepared to guide and encourage a wide spectrum of workshop users. They will have the ability to support both total beginners and subject experts, and to work with a range of ages and competencies, from children to adults. They should be approachable, able to work in a team and able to offer advice and direction to students and fellow staff members in the form of both formal training as well as informal individual and group meetings. The post-holder must engage with staff and students in discussion, work with sketches and preliminary drawings, and be able to advise users on modifications, alternatives, and further developments of their ideas.
