UCL Lunchtime Looks
Tuesday 30 September 2014 12:30pm - 2:00pm
Institute of Making
All UCL staff and students welcome.
No need to book.
Drop in from 12.30 - 2.00pm.
For one week only, every lunchtime, we will be throwing open our doors for all UCL students and staff to take a look around the Institute of Making. Step inside and have a look at our materials library, workshop and the various robot related activities we have going on.
Over the course of the week we will have a variety of robots for you to see, interact with and even have a go yourself. Running throughout the week, 24 hours a day, there will be two UR robotic arms on loan from the Bartlett, building and assembling a surprise construction. Hanging out in the Materials Library will be RoboThespian, a life sized humanoid robot designed for human interaction. On Tuesday, one of our members, Mark Ransley, has built a laser projector for industrial and entertainment purposes. On Wednesday, the computer science department here at UCL, will be demonstrating the robotic Shadow Hand. On Thursday, fresh back from China we will have the Lego-to-Nano project leader showing us their AFM microscope made from lego. On friday, closing the week, Iain Duncan, an inventor and industry pioneer will be bringing along his latest robot creation.
